I love that sky panel/page. A lot of artists would chicken out and try to fill that wide open space, but it has such an open, free feel to it just as it is.
Regarding colour codes, Garen Ewing -- he does the Rainbow Orchid
books, which I think you'd like -- borrowed his from a paint range: http://www.garenewing.co.uk/rainboworchid/behindscenes/behind_06making.php
I look at the stuff you, Stokoe and your pal Sheldon -- among others do -- and it annoys me no end that when the average punter thinks of comics, they think of something like the X-Men, and if they go to pick up a comic, it's got crap like Greg Land in it. When did you last see an X-Men comic with something like that "Chapter Six" picture in it?
I mean, we all know that there's more to comics than the X-Men, but it's like they're not even trying any more.
"Chocked Full of Hookers" is a great title for a book.
The only two comicey things I have on my reading pile right now are Mignola's new Amazing Screw-On Head
book and Whatever Happened to the World's Fastest Man?
, from Accent UK, and which I'm told is the Flash done right.
Oh, and one last thing. I just bought a new computer. Widescreen. And these posts are still too big for it! Keep it up! ;)
