	Hello. It's been a good week, I've just been drawing with some breaks for tetris and walks. Marian has achevied some disgustingly high level of badassery in the video game she's playing. I think she's already running the theives guild --Immpressive. One of my favorite side effects of doing comic books is how much shit you have to learn to keep writing. Like this week I was comming up with some pastry puns and I found out that the Molotov in Molotov coctail was a real dude a Russian politician, Vyacheslav Molotov. Reminds me how my pal David told me that chauvinism was named after a Nicolas Chauvin and what an asshat you'd have to be to get that named after you. Personally all I've got is that time machine and those crackers. Someone started a list of favorite top 12 comics. And I threw out 12. I rolled it around in my brain for a week and came up with the 12 most important books to me. i mean it's mostly the creators of the books that I'm thinking of. Idealy the goal is to do books as good as these. Yes? YES! Anyway what about you dudes? Speaking of comics, I picked up the Wolverine Saudade book that a couple of french dudes did for marvel. I dunno if it's the translation or what but Wolverine keeps saying shit like hoser and canuckehead. Maybe he says that shit all the time but it really cuts down any belief that he might be a badass. The thing that bugs me-- there's this HUGE MATURE CONTENT thing on the cover, inside the book people are getting shot in the face and dudes are shitting themselves as they die but when Logan loses his clothes-- he's got some crotch shadow or foreground object blocking it. And it's not like I'm dieing to see what his dick looks like (uncircumzised -because of the healingfactor) but why are people so into getting wolverine naked if you're just going to pull some cheese dick crotch shadow shit. He is seriously the only male character I can think of that they go out of the way to get naked.(aside from naked justice of course) Marvel is so scared of dick. Now that we're movin, I'm goin thru my comix, constructing a "core equilibrium" of the main comics that inspire me, for easy access.

It's pretty much all late 90's early 00's Pope. When I really think about it, I come to the conclusion "all I need is Pope". It's really perfect comics to me.

I'm talkin THB 6, Heavy Liquid, One-Trick, etc.

Anyway, so, #1 Pope

And a bunch of manga. Dragon Ball / Z, Naruto, Berserk, Ranma 1/2, No. 5, Black & White... nerf nerf

I realized today that my all time favorite movies are usually COP DRAMAS. are there any good COP COMICS for fuck's sake? I guess Sin City... mmm... i dunno.

Pope, Toriyama, good-Baker, Toriyama, Moebius, Pini, Bodé... that's most of my list right there. The Appleseed cover you included was the first manga trade I ever bought, and is still as awesome to this day.

Otomo's work seems heavily influenced by European art, just merged with the technical drawing skill common in Japan... a neat combination to have, really :)

incredible picks for your top 12. The only two that I wouldn't second as being totally brilliant are Matt Howarth and Wendy Pini.

I've never been able to even get through one of Howarth's comics, and I think there is a reason ElfQuest went from being the top selling independant comic in the industry to being almost totally forgotten by all but it's biggest fans from back in the day.

I was about to flip out and say, "WHAT?! NO CONAN?!" But you left the comment about creators, and it all made sense.

My Top 12 needs to be re-thought. That list I threw up in devART was rushed, incomplete; I'll need to go through all my comics once I move them into my new house before I can create the ultimate Top 12.

And I think the reason Marvel doesn't like dicks showing up in their books is 'cause so many of their books suck huge dick, and they're afraid their readers will go into dick overload.

Also I once heard a dude describe Eric B and Rakim as 'anti-bling-bling'. I have their album on 12". Have you seen it? The sleeve just shows them wearing TONS of gold. the background is dollar bills. It's CALLED Paid in Full. And the gold's been drawn on with a motherfucking SPECIAL GOLD PEN so it appears to shine when you wiggle the record sleeve.

I picked up Bode's Erotica Vol. 2 a few weeks back at a flea market for five bucks!! It rules, his stuff is amazing, I wonder where he is now.

I've been thinking about getting into Elfquest and now I'll start hunting them down for sure, some of these Baltimore comic stores are crawling with this stuff.

Wolverine's dong is uncut without a doubt, and it's shaped just like him, short and wide with lots of hair.

Are you going to Baltimore Comiccon or SPX this coming year?

But he did a shitload of amazing stuff before he went.

Definaty dig up some elfquest, once you get past the nerd wall of it being about elves and trolls it's really amazing.

I don't know what cons I'm going to yet. I really want to see SPX soon. Mostly I'm layting low until I get some more books out. soooon.

Wolverine wouldn't have foreskin if he were circumcised as a child. Because most mutants develop their powers later in life. But I don't know, only Chris Claremont knows that answer to that. I can only guess.

What's the second comic you've got listed there? The art is really catching my eye.

It's always bugged me how people will play elaborate games of hide-the-penis rather than give a goddamn full-frontal of a guy. Come on, if you're drawing a naked guy waking around you should at least own up to the fact he has genitals once or twice instead of using elaborate shadow effects and random objects to hide 'em.
